Snagging Survey Rye

Are you in the process, or considering buying a newly built home or apartment? With the current housing demand leading to new builds being constructed at record speed it is becoming increasingly common for numerous defects to be noted once the home is completed. To counter act this it is important that you instruct a professional company to undertake a thorough inspection. This is called a snagging survey, and its purpose is to identify unfinished work and defects (large and small) for those purchasing newly built properties. A snagging inspection provides homebuyers with reassurance regarding the level of workmanship and allows for any defects to be rectified prior to moving in.

RICS Accredited Chartered Suveyors

Southdown Surveyors are RICS accredited and as a team of qualified chartered surveyors we offer a range of services including a specialist snagging offering. Serving clients across Rye and East Sussex, we lead the industry with professional snagging inspections, surveys and reports, identifying faults that cover everything from leaking taps to subsidence.

Within 5 days of the inspection we will produce a detailed report, highlighting minor and major issues with technical information on the construction of your new property. We can pass a copy of the report to your builder or developer should you wish, and our surveyors are available to discuss any points or issues outlined in the report following the inspection.

Generally, we suggest that any inspection is undertaken prior to you moving in, this simply means less disruption for you as any defects identified can then be rectified by the builder prior to you moving in. If for some reason this is not an option then the inspection can usually take place within 2 years of the warranty date. It is worth checking this with your developer as their terms and conditions may vary.
