External and Internal Snagging Surveys
Snagging is a term that refers to the process of checking a new build property for any minor faults that may need rectifying. With an increasing level of pressure on developers and builders to build homes quickly, new builds frequently suffer from issues or unfinished work which the new owner is left to deal with. A snagging survey is instructed to ensure this does not happen, inspecting internal and external areas of your new build property to identify any major or minor defects.
When purchasing a home it's always helpful to instruct these types of surveys prior to moving in as it provides you with time to discuss and negotiate with the builders or developers. If this is not possible generally snagging surveys can be completed within 2 years of your warranty date. We would always advise however that you with check this term with your specific developer - as timescales can differ.

Within 5 days of the inspection, your dedicated Building Surveyor will produce a detailed snagging report. Your snagging report will detail specific technical information on the construction of your property. If desired we can pass on a copy of the report to your property developer or builder. Your Building Surveyor will be on-hand following receipt of the report to discuss any aspects you require further information on.
